Portland jazz and cabaret vocalist Courtney Freed brings The Courtney Freed Five to Edgefield for a night of classic swing: Basie, Ellington, Ella and the dance-floor standards that fill Portland’s Lindy nights. Called “effervescent” and “a whirlwind of excitement,” she released her album Big Crazy Love this year. With Hamody Hindi on guitar, Bernardo Gomez on bass, Josh Gilbert on horns and Charles Pike on drums, this is a band built for dancing. Beginners welcome.
