Talks to Plants + Werewolf Diet + Scratching Tongues
Scratching Tongues
A self-described “alien synth pop” act, Scratching Tongues is the latest band hailing from the great city of Portland, Oregon. With one foot planted in spacey psychedelic pop and the other in classic overdriven garage rock, the band’s signature lo-fi indie rock sound draws inspiration from bands and artists ranging from MGMT to Stereolab, The Cleaners From Venus to Television Personalities.
Talks To Plants
Talks to Plants, based in Portland, perform newly cultivated joyous jaunts through rock ‘n’ roll, from barnburners to ballads. The compact side of psychedelia held together by jangle, roiling fuzz, and decades-long friendship. They have been playing together, in various combinations under various names, from middle school to middle age. Talks to Plants’s debut album, Weird Symmetry, was released in 2026.
Werewolf Diet
From the ashes of La Chute, a Portland-based The Fall cover band, Werewolf Diet began writing original songs in October 2021 as an escape from the boredom of the Covid years. Once described as “egg punk poking a stick at horror,” the ever-evolving line-up dabbles in many genres such as goth, 80’s new wave synth, punk, post-punk, 90’s alternative, beat jazz poetry, and 60’s psychedelica. Landmine Territory, the band’s debut album, was released in 2024. Their second album is expected in 2027.
