Kayan (DJ CUTZ1) was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. He is of Indigenous Californian & Peruvian decent. His love for music started at an early age and was heavily influenced by his uncle and grandfather’s massive collection of funk, soul & R&B records. He has a diverse skill set and can play for any crowd from bars & clubs to more professional corporate and non profit events. Notable clients include Google, Redfin, Amazon, American Indian Cultural Center of San Francisco, Seattle Indian Health Board, United American Indian Involvement of Los Angeles, The Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Dodgers, & The Seattle Kraken. Cutz1 is also an accomplished Hip-Hop DJ and has shared the stage with legendary artists including OutKast, DJ Quik, Scarface, Snoop Dogg, Ludacris, Ghostface, Raekwon, Talib Kweli, The Pharcyde, KRS-1 & many more. Cutz1 is an open format DJ whose vast musical knowledge & experience allows him to play for diverse crowds all over the world. He has recently been on tour internationally playing for sold out crowds in London, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin & Tokyo. Cutz1 currently splits his time between Seattle & San Diego but travels the globe providing a thoughtfully curated musical experience no matter the genre. He has held residencies in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Portland, & Seattle. Currently you can catch him in Seattle 2nd Fridays for New Music Fridays at Mountaineering Club & 3rd Saturdays for Soul Purpose at Sugar Hill. Coming soon Motown Mondays in San Diego.
