Perry is a singer-songwriter with over 50 years of experience as a working musician, performing in bands, festivals, and live venues throughout his career.
Raised on the Oregon coast in Lincoln City, Perry began playing music in school band before buying his first bass guitar at age 12. After serving in the United States Marine Corps (1982–1986), he continued playing music wherever he was stationed — from North Carolina to Okinawa — performing in both local bands and an All-Marine band.
After leaving the Marines, Perry spent years as a hired-gun bass player, including performing with the North Santiam Band featuring Sara Evans, opening for Willie Nelson and Tim McGraw before her national success.
Eventually stepping forward as a singer and songwriter, Perry developed his own material and performed festivals from 2015–2019. His debut album, DEAD FOR AWHILE is a collection of 11 original songs, reflects decades of musical experience and storytelling. Perry is currently returning to live performance while continuing to write and record.
Perry’s CD Release of DEAD FOR AWHILE will rock McMenamins Mission Theater October 3rd and The Beach Club Event Center in Lincoln City November 7th.
Portland-based blues-rock band Sleeper Wave is led by teen musicians Cameron Kirkman (17) on guitar and vocals and Jonah Bradbury (15) on keyboards, joined by veteran bassist Timmer Blakely and powerhouse drummer Cole Wilson. Together, they blend classic blues, soulful folk, and high-energy rock into dynamic original songs and captivating live performances.
In 2025, Sleeper Wave won the Cascade Blues Association’s Youth Journey to Memphis Competition, earning the opportunity to represent Portland at the International Blues Challenge on legendary Beale Street. Since then, they have become the first youth-led band nominated for a prestigious Muddy Award and have wowed audiences at the Waterfront Blues Festival, Cathedral Park Jazz Festival, and the historic Alberta Rose.
Whether performing at a packed theater or an intimate club, Sleeper Wave pushes the boundaries of blues-rock, demonstrating that the future of the genre is in capable hands.
