Business of Misery is a Paramore tribute band based in Portland, OR originally formed in 2024 around a shared love of 2000’s emo pop and Paramore’s ever-evolving cathartic alternative rock sound.
Business of Misery’s front woman Jess Kiaunis stands out in the alt-rock scene much like her inspiration Hayley Williams, and brings an impressive ease and youthfulness to a bombastic set requiring vocal prowess captured by few within the genre. The band’s instrumentalists (Jake Bassen, Travis Owens, Wyatt Unger) add a compelling energy to the stage paired with a near obsessive dedication to the source material, making this project so sonically close to the real thing that you may forget you’re not hearing Paramore themselves.
