Author/editor Larry Crane founded Tape Op 30 years ago, and now it has the highest circulation of music recording magazines in the world. Join us as Larry discusses Tape Op’s humble photocopier origins in 1996, opening a studio nine months later with Elliott Smith, partnering up with Tape Op’s co-owner John Baccigaluppi, and what interviewing was like in person. He tells his personal journey, from underground musician in the ‘80s to magazine editor/owner, producer, archivist, and studio owner, to Oregon Music Hall of Fame inductee in 2019. During the one-hour talk there will be slides, videos, and music, plus Q&A and book signing.
