Meet First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt. She redefined the role of First Lady, was one of the first delegates to the UN in 1945 and a leader in designing the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This special presentation brings this historical figure to life through storytelling and re-enactment by actor Debbie Dimitre.

Debbie Dimitre is a Northwest storyteller and actor who has been inspiring and educating audiences of all ages since 1987 in costume and in character. Through careful research for her dramatic and historically accurate scripts, Debbie draws on her theater training from University of Oregon and Portland State University to bring to life outstanding women in American history. Some of her first-person portrayals include such women as Emily Dickenson, Nellie Bly, and Annie Oakley, just to name a few. Debbie has performed for the Seattle Folklife Festival, historical societies, schools and colleges, and has served on the board of the Seattle Storytellers Guild.
