Take a visual journey to the origins of the Columbia River, from its source as a tiny spring in the Canadian Rockies to the Pacific Ocean. Photographer Peter Marbach shares stories from his 12-year project documenting all 1,250 miles of the mighty river. Learn about the complicated history of the Columbia River Treaty, its impact on First Nations and Indigenous communities, and the ongoing efforts to restore one of the world’s greatest salmon runs, from the sea to its source in British Columbia.

Peter Marbach is an author and photographer with three decades of experience capturing the Pacific Northwest’s most beautiful landscapes. Marbach’s current commissioned exhibits with the Oregon Historical Society include the centennial celebration of the iconic Pacific Coast Highway 101 in Oregon and the travel exhibits entitled The Power of Place and The Pursuit of Happiness.
