Dain Norman is also celebrating by releasing his own cover of the original single, Help!” Dain Norman & The Chrysalis Effect Singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and audio-producer Dain Norman brings classic singer-songwriter style rock n’ roll to the Pacific Northwest. Dain has released two albums, two EPs, and a handful of singles, mostly self-producing and playing every instrument on many of the recordings. He performs solo as well as fronting his band, Dain Norman & The Chrysalis Effect, doing performances around the greater Seattle area and beyond. Duffy is celebrating her 50th Anniversary of making music with a Northwest Tour starting Aug 31st through the month of September and the digital release of three hidden gems albums originally only available in physical format including her first two albums as Duffy Bishop and the Rhythm Dogs, Dogs Run Cheap (1985) and On a Journey (1987), and the Duffy Bishop album Ooh Wee (2002). Having spent much time in her beloved Pacific Northwest, Duffy, is a member of the Halls of Fame for the Washington Blues Society, The Cascade Blues Association and the Oregon Music Hall of Fame. Duffy has opened for artists Etta James, Lou Rawls, Ruth Brown, Bo Diddley (who called her “dangerous”), REO Speedwagon, Little Feat, Chicago, Bobby Bland, The Neville Brothers, and Roy Orbison, to name a few. This band creates music to share experiences and sound images. They have performed at festivals such as Altavoz in Medellín Colombia, North West Psych Fest in Seattle, Mexicadelia in Guadalajara, Mexico, etc. They have been invited to open shows for YeahYeahYeah’s, Chicano Batman, La Barranca and Café Tacvba. They are currently promoting “Orbitando” and in a new cycle of composition in power trio format. Their discography is based on the debut album “Mar Rojo” (2018), the single “Ikite Iru” (2020), and the EP “Orbitando (2022) and the collaboration with the German band Ja, Panik “Descontrol (2024). In addition to being part of compilations in vinyl format, stories such as Espacios Vacíos Vol 1 and Now Girls Rule. They will be releasing new music soon. Semisoft is a post-grunge dream pop trio from Tacoma. Sweet musings drift to spacey, hypnotic drones and pop off into full heavy riff rock mode. Somewhere between Fuzz, PJ Harvey, and Natural Child. Someone’s Daughter is a femme punk powerhouse tearing up the Seattle music scene with their raw, unapologetic sound. Combining fierce vocals, electrifying guitar riffs, driving basslines, and relentless beats, this quartet channels the energy of riot grrrl, grunge, and hardcore punk into something both nostalgic and refreshingly original.
