Portland’s M.A.I.N.S, led by drummer Micah Hummel, is an instrumental project devoted to the art of improvisation. The group’s music unfolds in real time, weaving acoustic textures with effects and spontaneous interaction. Featuring a lineup of some of Portland’s most in demand musicians, M.A.I.N.S offers a distinctive, color-rich approach to modern instrumental music. Their self-titled debut album showcases the band’s fluid chemistry and collective creativity.

The Mt. Hood Jazz Festival is a five-day immersion into the jazz culture. It includes professional performances by world-renowned artists as well as a large competitive festival for high school and middle school jazz ensembles. Attendees can experience the music, vendors, food and culture of the area.
