Animal Collective

Psychedelic pop group Animal Collective released a new EP called Meeting of the Water this week! This EP is one of the band’s most unique recordings they’ve done- they recorded it in the Amazon forest! Animal Collective released Meeting of the Water for Record Store Day, which also happened to be Earth Day this year, and had proceeds go to an organization that stops deforestation in the Amazon. The catch to this release is that it was a Record Store Day exclusive so they won’t be releasing it in CD form or online!

If you want the chance to possibly hear some of the songs off the EP and/or their older jams, Animal Collective is playing the Roseland Theater on June 30th!

Gorillaz is back! After a seven year period of silence from Gorillaz, they have put out a highly anticipated album called Humanz! Humanz sticks to the good ol’ Gorillaz sound while incorporating new elements they have been working on since their last release. Gorillaz didn’t make just an album of their music, they have an all-star lineup on it! Acts like Vince Staples are featured on the album (listen to Ascension ft. Vince Staples above). Old and new fans will love the album and the 2017 version of Gorillaz.

Indie pop rockers Coin put out a new album this week entitled How Will You Know If You Never Try! This is the band’s second full-length album release since their inception in 2012. On the album, they include their hits Talk Too Much and I Don’t Wanna Dance. You can stream HWYKIYNT in full here.

Coin will be heading out on their first headlining tour called the HWYKIYNT Tour and it stops at the Hawthorne Theatre on June 19th!
